Ill-walkers has two main difficulties to select from (game-play difficulty will also scale while playing though the levels and in the levels).
Assisted difficulty will include mechanics from almost all first-person games. A HUD is displayed which includes ammo count, throwables count, equipment inventory, parts inventory and map (not in all levels). Also in this difficulty you gain points when hitting zombies (as well as points for the kill).
Hardened difficulty doesn’t include any of the mechanics mentioned above (points are still given for kill, not hit). Playing levels in hardcore also gives players access to small additional areas in the map and extras (detailed below).

Hardened difficulty extrasEdit
As mentioned above there is some small bonuses to play on Hardened difficulty. You can; activate extra audio files scattered around the map, access rooms with storyline extras and see hidden texts with hints to the storyline mission.
